COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING REQUESTS:
Rep. Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) has submitted funding requests for important community projects in Texas' 15th Congressional District to the House Appropriations Committee.
Under guidelines issued by the Appropriations Committee, each Representative may request funding for up to 15 projects in their community for fiscal year 2025 – although only a handful may actually be funded. Projects are restricted to a limited number of federal funding streams, and only state and local governments and eligible non-profit entities are permitted to receive funding.

All requests submitted by Rep. De La Cruz to the House Appropriations Committee are posted below. In compliance with House Rules and Committee requirements, Rep. De La Cruz has certified that she and her immediate family have no financial interest in any of the projects she has requested.

- Project Name: Main Drain Project
Amount of Request: $7,000,000

Explanation of Request: The West Main Drain Expansion Project will provide regional drainage capacity to the cities of Mission, McAllen, and Edinburg as well as unincorporated Hidalgo County.

- Project Name: Jr. High Community Gym Renovation

Project Name: City of Three Rivers Elevated and Ground Storage Tanks Rehabilitation

Project Name: Kingsbury Rainwater Collection Project

Project Name: Seguin Activity Center

Explanation of Request: The project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because this activity center is a critical community resource the City is currently unable to provide. Additionally, the city already owns the building and the renovations are “shovel ready” awaiting funding.

Project Name: Water System Improvements
Amount of Request: $1,250,000

Explanation of Request: The project would be a valuable use of taxpayer funds because the City is in desperate need of drilling a new water well. There are three existing older wells that do not have the ability to be rehabilitated anymore. Providing potable drinking water to the Citizens of Runge and to the School District is a top priority to ensure safe drinking water for all.

Project Name: Proposed Generator Improvements Project
