Rep. Monica De La Cruz issued the following statement Tuesday upon passage of H.R. 1615, the Gas Stove Protection and Freedom Act:

“The Biden Administration’s efforts to control all aspects of our lives knows no end,” De La Cruz said. “Whether it’s forcing Americans to purchase prohibitively expensive electric cars or efforts to take natural gas out of our homes, career bureaucrats continue to burden you and me. That is why I was proud to vote for the Gas Stove Protection and Freedom Act. Beyond many families and restaurants cooking with natural gas, many more heat their homes with natural gas. If the electric grid goes down, as it did just a few years ago, natural gas is a viable alternative to heat your home and prepare food to feed your family and neighbors. It is dangerous for the federal government to put all our eggs in one energy basket. I’ll continue to stand up for South Texans and our state’s energy industry.”
