Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) announced the bipartisan passage of H.R. 7480, the Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act. It is her sixth piece of legislation to pass the House of Representatives. De La Cruz’s legislation, which passed Wednesday, ensures that service-connected disability compensation from the Department of Veterans Affairs is excluded from income calculations when requesting assistance under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. “Our veterans have sacrificed so much for our nation, and this legislation removes barriers to housing assistance for those with service-connected disabilities,” De La Cruz said. “This is about ensuring equity and access for our heroes.” H.R. 7480 will:
