Rep. Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) was appointed vice chair of the House Financial Services’ Housing and Insurance Subcommittee on Thursday. Rep. De La Cruz ran a successful insurance agency in the Rio Grande Valley before being elected to Congress in November 2022. “You hope to never file an insurance claim. But in my insurance career, I worked with Texans to make sure they were protected from life’s curveballs and tragedies,” Rep. De La Cruz said. “Now, as the representative for Texas’ 15th Congressional District, I bring the same compassion and care to Washington. I am proud to be appointed Vice Chair of the Housing and Insurance Subcommittee, where I will use my expertise to ensure Americans are protected through the policies we enforce and enact. I will also hold the industry accountable when necessary and will always work with homeowners and the insured top of mind. I thank Chairman McHenry and House leadership for this opportunity to serve and use my expertise.” Rep. Monica De La Cruz is the Republican representative for Texas-15. A single mother of two and lifetime resident of the Rio Grande Valley, Monica is proud to represent her fellow Texans that live and work in rural communities both along the southern border and in Texas' vibrant agrarian regions. Her success in business serves as an encouragement that the American Dream is worth preserving. Rep. De La Cruz currently serves on the Financial Services and Agricultural Committees, where she continues to fight every day to serve the people of South Texas. |
