WASHINGTON - Ahead of the government funding deadline on September 30th, Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (R-TX) introduced the Pay Our Border Patrol and Customs Agents Act. This critical legislation will ensure U.S. Border Patrol Agents and Office of Field Operations Officers continue to be paid during a potential government shutdown in FY2026.

The legislation is co-sponsored by Reps. Claudia Tenney (NY-24), Derrick Van Orden (WI-03), Jimmy Patronis (FL-01), Russell Fry (SC-07), and Ashley Hinson (IA-02).

Background:
The Continuing Resolution to fund the government is set to expire on September 30, 2025. De La Cruz's Pay Our Border Patrol and Customs Agents Act will ensure that U.S. Border Patrol Agents and Office of Field Operations Officers will continue to be paid during any lapse in government funding in Fiscal Year 2026.
