De La Cruz's Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act Passes the Senate

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman De La Cruz (TX-15) released the following statement after her bipartisan legislation, the Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act, passed the Senate. The legislation will ensure VA service-connected disability income is excluded from income calculations when determining eligibility for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program assistance.

Senators Mike Crapo (R-ID) and Jack Reed (D-RI) led the legislation in the Senate.

“I am proud to work to bring this critical legislation across the finish line and send it to the President's desk to become law. Though we can never repay our Veterans for their service and sacrifice, we can show our gratitude by removing the bureaucratic obstacles that stand in the way of housing support.” – Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz
