In the wake of the recent terrorist attacks against Israel by Hamas in which hundreds of Israeli civilians were murdered and several Americans were taken hostage, Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) has stepped forward as an original co-sponsor of a House resolution standing firmly with Israel, emphasizing its pivotal role as a key U.S. ally in an exceptionally volatile region.

Speaking about this weekend’s massacre, Congresswoman De La Cruz stated, "As a mother, my heart breaks at the horrifying images of countless civilians — including women, seniors, and children — who were brutally murdered by these barbarians. Israel is not just our ally but an essential pillar of stability in an incredibly volatile region, safeguarding against radical Islamic extremists with ambitions targeting American soil. This resolution unequivocally declares the U.S. supports Israel’s right to defend itself. I urge the U.S. government to also make every possible effort to rescue the Americans currently held captive by Hamas.”

The Congresswoman added, “In light of these attacks, we must remain vigilant, especially concerning our border security and ports of entry, to ensure the safety and freedoms of the American people.”

Reiterating the values of South Texans, Congresswoman De La Cruz declared, "In South Texas, we are known for our kindness, compassion, and strong sense of community. We have zero tolerance for anti-semitism. This week, I have spoken with local rabbis to let them know they have my full support during this difficult time. I want all of our Jewish brothers and sisters across America and the world to know: South Texans have your back — now and always.”

As the House resolution that Congresswoman De La Cruz co-sponsored underscores, the United States stands shoulder to shoulder with the Israeli people during their darkest hour.
